Perfume Basics
What’s the difference between Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, and Extrait de Parfum?
These terms refer to the concentration of fragrance oils in the perfume:
- Eau de Toilette (EDT): Lighter concentration (5–15%). Fresh, airy, lasts around 3–5 hours.
- Eau de Parfum (EDP): Medium concentration (15–25%). Richer, longer-lasting at 6–8 hours.
- Extrait de Parfum / Perfume Oil: Highest concentration (25–40%). Intense, deep, and long-lasting—often over 12 hours.
Why do some perfumes last longer than others?
Longevity depends on fragrance concentration, ingredients (e.g., oud and amber last longer than citrus notes), and how it interacts with your skin chemistry. Applying perfume to moisturized skin or pulse points helps extend its life.
What is “nose blindness”?
Also called olfactory fatigue, nose blindness happens when your brain gets used to a scent you’re wearing and temporarily stops detecting it. Others around you can still smell it. To avoid this, rotate your fragrances regularly or re-apply later in the day.
About Arabian Perfumes
Why choose perfumes from the Middle East?
Middle Eastern perfumes are known for their luxury, depth, and craftsmanship. They often feature oud, amber, musk, rose, and exotic spices, creating rich, long-lasting scents that stand out compared to many mainstream designer perfumes. These fragrances also carry a heritage of centuries-old perfumery traditions, blending both modern techniques and cultural artistry.
Are Middle Eastern perfumes unisex?
Yes! Many Middle Eastern fragrances are unisex, designed to be shared and enjoyed regardless of gender. Instead of rigid categories, they focus on the character of the scent—whether it’s bold, sensual, fresh, or comforting.
Tips & Advice
How should I apply perfume for best results?
Apply to pulse points such as the wrists, neck, and behind the ears. For longer wear, lightly spritz on clothing (but test first to avoid staining). Layering with unscented lotion or matching oils also boosts longevity.
How can I explore new perfumes without committing to a full bottle?
We regularly stock travel sizes and sample packs, perfect for discovering new favorites before buying a full bottle.
